First Aid, Basic Washes...
... from Ammo of Mig Jiminez
Ammo of Mig Jiminez produce a useful series of weathering materials, acrylic paints and themed sets of them as well. One of the recent additions is this one, with 5 useful washes, and handy for all sorts of models, including AFV's, aircraft, ships and also sci-fi subjects. I know there is an argument that you can make your own washes, but getting the consistency just right can be a bit of a hit-and-miss affair. So one of the advantages is that these offer some consistency and just make life easier. Aimed at the beginner, this new pack holds 5 colours which are so widely used that they will be handy to replenish your supplies as well I think. The colours are-
A-Mig 1002 - Track Wash
A-Mig 1004 - Light Rust Wash
A-Mig 1008 - Dark Wash
A-Mig 1203 - Streaking Grime
A-Mig 1400 - Kursk Soil
These days I use washes a lot, on vehicles, figures and aircraft models and all these are among those I use regularly. Easy to use generally, though for the Streaking Grime, best to use a small amount carefully applied, and then use a separate brush with thinner to spread them down, creating the 'streaks' of the name.

My thank to Ammo of Mig Jiminez for my examples.
