Sdkfz 231 6-rad in 1/72...
...No. 64 in the First to Fight magazine series
Coupled with a Polish language magazine, 'First to Fight' combines it with a very neat 1/72 model. In this instance it is number 64 in the series and features the Sdkfz 231 6-rad armoured car.
The 6-rad (6-wheeled) armoured car was introduced in the early 1930s and based on a truck chassis, using Daimler-Benz, Bussing and Magirus 6x4 trucks. It was armed with a 20mm gun and an MG13 in the turret. There were two driving positions, so it could have been driven forwards or backwards. There was a crew of 4, with commander, gunner, driver and radio operator. It was still in use with reconnaissance units in the early stages of WW2, including the invasion of Poland, France and the early stages of the invasion of Russia. After that it was withdrawn and transferred to internal security duties while the larger 8-rad armoured cars took over the role in front line units.
The kit itself is moulded in a dark grey plastic and is quick and easy to assemble. Fit of parts is excellent and transfers are included. I have mine built and a base coat of panzer grey, next step will be to paint the tyres and details.

I bought mine through Tiger Hobbies here in the UK.
