Hataka Paint Sets, New for September 2017...

RED LINE– acrylic paints optimised for airbrush
1) HTK-AS86 “Russian AF Helicopters paint set vol. 1”

Although part of post-soviet helicopters operated by the Russian AF still wears a mix of various colour schemes gained during gradual overhauls in many workshops, in early 2010s a new standard scheme of overall dark grey was successfully introduced on most types including Mi-8/17 family, Mi-26 heavy transports and Mi-24/35, Mi-28 and Ka-52 attack helicopters. Only after less than 5 years a decision was made to revert to more standard 3-colour camouflage of green (contrary to more olive colour used in the soviet times) and light tan on upper surfaces, with rather bright blue lower surfaces. Up to date representatives of all above mentioned types have already been observed in this new scheme.

HTK-AS86includes standard colours of Russian AF helicopters since 2010. The set contains:

  • HTK-A230 – Dark Grey - Overall colour (2010-14) of freshly painted modern Russian AF helicopters, including Ka-52, Mi-28, Mi-24/35, Mi-8/17, Mi-26

  • HTK-A296 – Faded Eggplant Grey – Used to achieve faded colour of weathered modern Russian AF helicopters, including Ka-52, Mi-28, Mi-24/35, Mi-8/17, Mi-26

  • HTK-A150 - Blue-Green – The best match for colour of nose-cone of Russian AF Ka-52s in both 2-colour camouflage and dark grey overall livery

  • HTK-A293 – Extra Light Blue – Colour of optoelectronic targeting pods of Russian AF attack helicopters (Ka-52, Mi-35M). Also used on gunpad of Mi-28N

  • HTK-A294 – Mustard - Colour of optoelectronic targeting pod of Russian AF Mi-28s. Also standard colour of armament of all attack helicopters

  • HTK-A155 – Air Superiority Blue - Since 2014 used for lower surfaces of various Russian AF helicopters, including Ka-52, Mi-28, Mi-8/17, Mi-24/35 and Mi-26

3) HTK-BS44 “USAF, USN & USMC paint set (modern greys)”--> BLUE LINE

HTK-BS44includes standard camouflage colours of US aircraft since late 1970s.The set contains the following acrylic paints, optimised for use with brush:

  • HTK-B037 – Light Ghost Grey – FS36375, widely used on USN / USMC aircraft, also on some USAF planes incl. A-10A/Cs and F-16s (tri-colour)

  • HTK-B035 – Dark Ghost Grey – FS36320, widely used on USN / USMC aircraft (incl. tri-colour AV-8B Harrier IIs) and USAF A-10A/C Thunderbolt IIs

  • HTK-B031 – Gunship Grey – FS36118, used on USAF F-4C/D/E/Gs in "Hill One" scheme and on F-16s. Also on USMC AV-8Bs (tri and two-colour)

5) HTK-CS55 “Modern Luftwaffe paint set vol. 2” --> ORANGE LINE
HTK-CS55includes standard colours of German aircraft from 1980s to 1990s. The set contains the following lacquer based paints, optimised for use with airbrush:

  • HTK-C171 – Grey Blue – RAL5008, used in Norm 87 Marineflieger camouflage scheme of Panavia Tornado (the final scheme of the type in Marineflieger service)

  • HTK-C192 - Basalt Grey – RAL7012, used in Norm 87 Marineflieger scheme of Panavia Tornado. Also used in camouflage of Marineflieger SAR Sea King Mk.41s

  • HTK-C225 – Green Grey – RAL7009, used in Norm 87 Marineflieger scheme of Panavia Tornado. Also used in camouflage of Marineflieger SAR Sea King Mk.41s

  • HTK-C149 – Concrete Grey – RAL7023, used from early 1990s to current times in camouflage scheme of German Marineflieger Sea King Mk.41 (Search and Rescue variant)

2) HTK-AS87 “British AAC Helicopters paint set”

Since early 1970s the Army Air Corps (AAC) used several painting schemes on its helicopters fleet. Initial BS Olive Drab + Black scheme was used well into 1990s, when a new scheme of BS Olive Green + BS Medium Sea Grey was introduced. The latter is still in use on Lynx AH.7/9s and Bell 212s, parallel to US Army Helicopter Drab (FS34031) used on Apache AH.1 fleet. The new AW159 Wildcat (Lynx Wildcat) feature the scheme (shared with Royal Navy airframes) of BS Medium Sea Grey + BS Dark Sea Grey. This paint set also covers the Operation Granby (1991 Gulf War) period, in which several field-improvised camouflage schemes (with use of BS Light Stone and / or FS30279) were applied onto Lynx AH.7s and Gazelle AH.1s.
HTK-AS87includes standard colours of Army Air Corps aircraft since 1970s. The set contains:

  • HTK-A146 – BS Olive Drab - BS381C:298, used in 1970s-90s in standard camouflage scheme of AAC helicopters and fixed wing aircraft

  • HTK-A125 – NATO Black – Used between 1970s and 1990s in standard camouflage scheme of AAC helicopters and fixed wing aircraft

ORANGE LINE– lacquer based paints
4) HTK-CS18 “US Navy and USMC "high-viz" Paint Set” --> ORANGE LINE

HTK-CS18includes standard colours of US naval aircraft from 1950s till 1970s. The set contains the following lacquer based paints, optimised for use with airbrush:

  • HTK-C001 - Dark Sea blue (ANA 623) - Standard overall colour of US carrier-based aircraft (including AD-1..4, AF-2, F9F Panther/Cougar, F2H, F7F) from late 1944 until 1955

  • HTK-C041 - Night Black - FS37038, used in various applications on many US Navy and US Marines planes, including on anti-glare panels

  • HTK-C048 - Light Gull Grey (ANA 620)- Used for upper surfaces of carrier-based attack planes from 1955 till late 1970s. Also on some transport, patrol, AEW and ASW planes

  • HTK-C049 – Insignia White (ANA 511) - Used on lower surfaces of carrier-based attack planes from 1955 till late 1970s (incl. F-4, A-6, A-7, F-14, RA-5, S-3A, A-4 and F-8)

  • HTK-C061 - Seaplane Grey (ANA 625) - Standard colour of Navy helicopters from 1955 till late 1970s (except for SH-3s). Also on sea-planes and naval land-based aircraft

  • HTK-C062 - International Orange (ANA 508) - Overall colour of early jet trainers. Used in “high-viz” schemes of naval aircraft in late 1950s, later on training and SAR planes
     

6) HTK-CS73 “Modern Royal Air Force paint set vol. 2” --> ORANGE LINE
HTK-CS73includes standard colours of RAF aircraft from 1950s till 1990s. The set contains the following lacquer based paints, optimised for use with airbrush:

  • HTK-C003 – Silver – Also known as "High Speed Silver", overall colour of early-postwar RAF jets (till mid-1950s). Later (till 1966) used on lower surfaces

  • HTK-C217 – BS Light Aircraft Grey – BS381C:627, used on lower surfaces of RAF aircraft (DG+DSG/LAG) from 1966 till late 1970s (switch to wraparound)

  • HTK-C068 – US Army Desert Sand – FS30279, used for improvised desert camouflage of RAF Tornado GR1/1A, Jaguar GR1A and Buccaneer during Op Granby

  • HTK-C262 – BS Camouflage Beige – BS381C:389, also known as "Hemp", used in 1980s/90s on upper surfaces of Canberras, Victors, VC10s and Nimrods (over LAG)

7) HTK-CS81 “Modern German Army AFV paint set” --> ORANGE LINE
