Number 51 in the TopDrawings series of books from Kagero, for the small Brewster F2A Buffalo. This 20 page soft cover book provides pages of excellent 1/48 scale plans for the different variants of this little fighter. First used by the US Navy the Buffalo was also sold to other countries who used it as a land based aircraft, with arrestor hook and naval fittings deleted. In one instance, we even see the undercarriage having the wheels removed and replaced by skis. An introductory text opens proceedings that gives a basic background to the aircraft, and this is presented in both English and Polish.
As well as the selection of scale plans, the back cover and the centre pages present some nicely done colour profile artwork which illustrate a mix of colours and markings, for aircraft serving with the USAAF, the Royal Australian Air Force, RAF, Royal Dutch Air Force, the Finnish Air Force as well as others of the US Navy. The other two features with this particular book are two pages at the back with a series of useful 1/72 scale profiles that use a grey colour to highlight the differences in each of the different variants of the Buffalo. Finally, and a feature I can't remember seeing them do before, there is an A4 size separate sheet which is a print of a painting showing a USN Buffalo in flight against a bright blue background of sea and sky. Ideal to pop into a frame and hang on your study/hobby room wall.
