Meng Toon Sherman Firefly...
...building the Meng kit
Another of the armour models in this series of 'Toon Tanks' from Meng, in this case the Sherman Firefly. Complete with some rolled tarps for the turret and hull sides this is nice and simple to build. It is designed to be assembled without using any glue, though I do prefer to use glue to hold thing together permanently. The important factors are that these are a bit of fun, and they are designed for younger modellers, and if this helps them get into the hobby, then they are to be applauded. Just one detail that is incorrect is the inclusion of a hull machine gun, as this was eliminated on the Firefly to allow for greater ammunition stowage inside the hull. Italso features a Cullin Hedgerow device on the front, and when it come to painting, the characteristic counter shading on the underside of the of the longer barrel, designed to make it appear to have the shorter barrel of a standard 75mm Sherman.
All the same, once built, you can paint, add filters and weathering just as you would a 'normal' armour model.

I bought mine through Tiger Hobbies Ltd here in the UK
