A new hardback book in the Spotlight On series by MMP Books and one which showcases the amazing artwork of author Marek Rys.

A neat addition to the series from MMP, and after Marek's introduction we are presented with 21 double page spreads of his beautiful aviation artwork.  I have long been a fan of aviation art and while having been a long time modeller I have no ability whatsoever in trying to paint on a flat surface.  In this case Marek produces his aviation art using a computer.  With a background of producing scale drawings in the conventional way, with paper and ink.  He then learnt to use computer graphics and developed his skills to the high level they display today.  I admit to being a touch envious, I only wish I had a fraction of his skill with computer graphics.

Each double page spread features a different aircraft, set within a realistic background.  Subjects include a variety from the Fokker D.VII of WW1, the Polish PZL.P.1, French Morane Saulnier MS.406, various Spitfires, through more modern subjects such as the Convair B-58 Hustler, MiG-19PM and the MiG 29.

If you are a fan of aviation art then I am confident you'll like this.  Some super work that I for one sit back and look on in admiration.
