We have quickly got to number 18 in the Single series of books from MMP Books. This one focuses on the famous WW2 twin-boom fighter, the Lockheed P-38G-15-LO Lightning.
A 24-page soft-cover book and it opens with 5 pages of excellent scale drawings of the aircraft, in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales, and features the late version of the canopy. Pages 8-21 are filled with a mix of archive images, a selection of drawings taken from the parts manual and some pictures of detail elements of a preserved museum example, which includes the instrument panel. The final 3 pages carry excellent colour artwork views of P-38G-15-LO s/n 43-2384, "I" of 80th FS, 8th FG, of the 5th Air Force, based at Dobodura in New Guinea during the autumn of 1943.
A neat reference which will please modellers and aviation historians alike.
