The latest release in the 'Single' series from MMP Books focuses on the Me Bf 109 G-2 variant, and in this case one in Finnish service.
The 24-page card cover book opens with 5 pages of fine scale plans, providing all round views in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales. They include a series of fuselage cross-sections in both scales. The final 4 pages of the book carry equally excellent colour artwork of an example in Finnish Air Force service, Bf 109 G-2, MT-201, flown by Maj.Eino Luukkanen, the Commander of Lentolaivue 34, at Utti airfield in June 1943. This includes a photo and detailed artwork of the instrument panel, an ideal modellers reference.
In between these two valuable elements of the book we have 15 pages filled with archive photos of the aircraft in use, detailed drawings from the maker's Technical Manual showing things such as the fuel and cooling systems, as well as flying controls among others. Add in archive photos showing Finnish, Romanian and German examples plus both black & white and colour photos showing detail of preserved museum examples, including both engine and external detail.
Another book in this series aimed at the modeller and aviation historian alike, and very neatly done once again.
