The first of a new series from MMP Books, with Tank Plans No 1. The subject is the Cold War British MBT, the Chieftain. It makes for a useful addition to their earlier Green Series book which provides so much more detail of the Chieftain in service. This new softcover book holds 5 foldout sheets of scale plans.  It present front, left side and plan views of 4 significant variants.  These are the Mk 2, the Mk 5, the Stillbrew armoured Mk 11, along with the TOGS sight along with the Iraqi export version, the Shir. You can find examples of the real things on display at The Tank Museum, Bovington, where they are always impressive in the arena.

The significant advantage of these scale plans are that they are all provided in 1/35, 1/48, 1/72 and 1/76, which are all the main modelling scales. A bit of a shame they don't include the right side and rear views, but still a very useful reference for Chieftain fans.
