Valentine Infantry Tank in 1/72 scale...

...3 models for the wargames market in the one box, from The Plastic Soldier Company

Hot on the heels of their 15mm scale release of the Valentine, PSC have followed it up with the 1/72 version of the WW2 period British tank, the Valentine.  The Infantry Tank Mk III was made in Marks I - XI, and over 8,000 were built.  It was one of the tanks we supplied to the Red Army in WW2 which they made good use of.  It was also used for other variants, including a bridgelayer, the Bishop SP 25lber, the Archer SP 17lber and it was also used for the early DD (Duplex Drive) experiments which led to the famous Sherman DD.  There is a restored Valentine DD which has been a regular at rallies in recent years.

The kit enable you to build any of three variants, the Mk II, III or IX.  Commander half-figures are included, including both British and Russian.  Six sprues in the box, two for each of the 3 models containing the parts that enable you to build any of the variants you wish.    A selection of potential colour schemes, and the Mk III has sand shields for a desert version, which features on the back of the box with the Caunter scheme.  I found no problems with the fit of parts, they built as quickly and easily as the smaller 15mm scale versions.

As usual, I really like the look of the finished models, and in simple terms, they 'look right' to me.  There are no transfers included in the kit.

With 4 per box, this is a good value way of building up your wargame units.
