Steyr Heavy Car in 15mm scale...
...5 models for the wargames market in the one box, from The Plastic Soldier Company
A recent release from The Plastic Soldier Company in their range of 15mm scale wargames models comes the Steyr Heavy staff car. Five complete models in the box and they make up with a couple of options, and with little problem. The options are in the form of Early or Late variants, so optional left hand side panels. The early variant has an externally mounted spare wheel while the later version does not. They also provide optional parts so you can build either version with the tilt folded down, or with it erected and the side window panels fitted. To build mine, I opted for one each of the early and late version with the tilt up and the same down. The final one I did as another early version but with the windshield folded down. Thankfully, for the open versions, there are also crew figures included on each sprue. A driver, to which you fit the steering wheel, and then 4 additional crew figures. There is one more, a duplicate of the driver but the second has no arms provided for it. The seated figures all fit neatly enough.
I found assembly to be generally excellent, but it needed a little bit of plastic shaved away with a sharp craft knife from the chassis base, at the back end of the front mudguard on each side. On the inner side panels there are also some locating ribs which need to be cut back, as they foul the front seat support on each side. This is nothing difficult. Dry fit the parts before you apply any glue and just check where the adjustments need to be made. I completed each one in just a few moments so this is not a difficult task to make the minor corrections.. Everything else fits a treat.

With 5 per box, this is a good value way of building up your wargame units. No transfers are included with the kit, but PSC do have them available in separate packs.
