Military Model Scene

Another recent release from The Plastic Soldier Company and this one has to go down as one of their best to date I think.  This new kit has 9 complete models in the box, and the 9 sprues all have parts to build any of 8 alternative variants.  These provide for the basic Universal Carrier, a 3in mortar carrier, AOP, Vickers Carrier, 2in mortar carrier, both Wasp 1 and Wasp 2 flamethrower carriers and another with a .50 cal mounting.  Each sprue also includes 11 different figures, for use depending on the version you wish to build.

The instructions use colour coding on a sprue layout which shows which parts are used for each variant.  The instructions use a variety of illustrations for each of the different versions and generally this work well.  One or two don't have illustrations showing the rear plate and just how things are arranged but there are plenty of carrier references out there so that shouldn't be a problem.

I have now assembled 9 different variants, the AOP, Vickers Carrier, 2in Mortar, 3in Mortar, Wasp 1 and 2, 2 variations on carriers fitted with a .50 cal and of course, a basic Universal Carrier.  I have found the fit of parts to be excellent on all so far and I'm looking forward to finishing building the rest.  Quick and simple to build, I particularly like the variety in the optional crew figures plus of course you get a bonus in the number of spare parts on each sprue which provide extra fittings and figures to add to your spares box.

There are no transfers in the kit but Plastic Soldier Company do have a wide range of sets of transfers which will provide what you need.
