Robin Buckland's
M4A3/M4A3E8 in 1/56...
...from Rubicon Models
I have enjoyed building another of the Rubicon range of kits, this time their M4A3E8. The kit provides the option of building it as an M4A3, which has the VVSS (Vertical Volute Spring Suspension) or the M4A3E8 with the HVSS (Horizontal Volute Spring Suspension) and the wider track. There is also a choice of turret shell, depending on which one you choose to build. I also like that they include two heads for the driver/co-driver and a torso for the commander. With the HVSS track units, assembly is really straightforward. Yu can build it without fixing it to the hull, so you can paint them separately and then fit them to the hull once they are done.
With the model built, it was sprayed with a basic coat of Olive Drab and the track units painted as well. The kit as a whole was a relatively quick and easy build, with a good fit of parts. My next step will be to apply the transfers and then do some light weathering, which remains my favoured style of finishing.

I bought mine through Tiger Hobbies here in the UK.
