Number 57 is the latest in the TopDrawings series of books from Kagero, this time for the early versions of the Messerschmitt Bf 110. As it is marked up as vol 1 then of course we can expect the later variants to follow. As usual, the opening page gives an introduction to the aircraft in both English and Polish and this is followed with a series of 1/48 scale plans. These include the prototype, designated V-1 which had just 2-bladed propellers and then a whole series of other variants with an assortment of additional fittings, such as the large wooden ventral fuel tank which I still think looks so odd. There are others which had other styles of drop tanks, external bombs, cannon packs and Tropical variants. There are also 5 pages (including the back cover) of colour profiles. The final pages of drawings are done in 1/72 scale, and these use shaded areas of side views to indicate the changes from one model to another.
This is not the end of things however. Tucked between the pages of the book are some additional resources. A sheet of self adhesive masks provide for glazing on 1/72 and 1/48 scale models, especially the Eduard kits. Lastly, you get a larger fold out sheet of plans in 1/48 for upper and lower plan views, plus assorted additional sections.
Another useful addition to the series, and primarily of interest to the modeller, who will enjoy the masks and colour profiles in particular I think.
