For number 88 in this popular TopDrawings series by Kagero we return to a WW2 era military vehicle. This one looks at the subject of the M16, one of the anti-aircraft gun mounts on the M3 Half-track. It carries a quad mounting for .50cal Brownings which was also used against ground targets at times.
The opening pages carries text with the basic details of the equipment, and is provided in both English and Polish languages. The 24-page soft-cover book has some pages which are a little different to usual, with quite large 3/4 views (not to a particular scale) which show all sorts of useful details for the modeller whatever scale you are modelling the M16 in. Things like plug leads, brake pies and so on if you want to add these finer levels of detail to your model. Then there are pages of scale drawings in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales. Additionally, there are 3 more large fold-out sheets tucked into the book as well. One features those 3/4 view details, in this case for the engine, while the other 2 sheets have much bigger 1/16 scale drawings. These are clearly aimed at modellers with the large Trumpeter kit in this big scale. The back cover carries some colour profiles of an M16 as used behind Utah Beach, near St. Marie du Mont, along with the left side profile which is on the front cover. The M16 is an interesting vehicle, with the rear sides of the half-track body cut down and foldable, to give the quad .50 mount a clear field of fire all around.

Another useful reference for modellers.
