Robin Buckland's
Gallic Warriors in 28mm scale...
...the new release from Victrix
A new set of injection moulded 28mm scale Gallic Warriors. Very similar to their set of Gallic Naked Fanatics, but this time with their trousers on! Optional heads, arms, shields etc. so you can ring the changes between the individual figures. There are multiple sprues of two different ones. The smaller sprue carries the Command Figures and musician(s) (3 figures on each sprue) while the larger sprue holds 6 warrior figures plus all the optional parts, 3 of the figures have bare torsos and trousers while the other 3 have shirt and trousers. There are also 3 optional cloaks to make use of, and different shaped shields plus a choice of arms and weapons such as spears, javelins, swords and one arm holding out a severed head, just to illustrate the violence of the time. The heads for the figures also have choices, with different hair styles or with helmets. For the six figures on the sprue there are 18 different heads to choose from, so plenty of variety. With 48 figures in the pack, this offers some excellent value for money I think.
Nicely moulded and easy enough to assemble. I found the fit of parts to be good. The only thing you need to deal with are the moulding seams on the parts when you have removed them from the sprues. To select the right parts for the different figure types, the guide is provided printed on the back of the header card.
An accessory worth getting as well are the transfers for the shields which are available as sets from Little Big Men Studios.
